I must say that when it comes to sunglasses I do have a rather different taste. As you can see from my previous posts, I don’t think i’d actually call it unique though. I’d call it different from the people I know because half the fashion bloggers I follow like the same kinds of sunglasses.
But yeah. i love round big sunglasses. That is my signature style. in fact round is a recent love. for me it’s the bigger, the better.
Outfit Number 1:
My first pair of sunglasses would be these. Fell in love at first sight. Love how they give a hint of the retro without looking like i am trying too hard. and let’s face it, there’s noting worse than being caught trying too hard.
The model number of this is Ray-Ban RB 4147 601/32
The reason I chose this is that This is such a subtle statement piece that I wouldn’t bother accessorising my face at all. In fact it’s got a kinda sexy librarian vibe to it. If i accessorise too much it’d take away from the sunglasses and if i accessorise too little I’ll look too casual (not that it is a bad thing of course but since we are styling here might as well go out all the way)
So here’s what I’d pair with this. Starting with the face, since the glasses are translucent I’d go for dark eye makeup only on the upper lid and leave the lower lid untouched except for a slight sweep of mascara. Then I’d put on a nude lipstick or a slightly peachy neutral lipstick (no gloss for this look). Now for the clothes.
A pair of denims that are slightly distressed with a simple fuschia tee followed by a rocker chick blazer from my post here. But that is too simple is it not. I’ll be adding a nice purple chunky necklace and a whole bunch of stackable bracelets followed by a turban. a turban of this kind.
That’s the whole outfit finished off with a black belt and a lovely pair of flat boots. My casual/styled day outfit for the day time.
Perfect for a movie with friends followed by a cup of coffee at a regular cafe.
Outfit Number 2:
While we youngsters may not be able to afford Dolce and Gabbana clothing, we certainly can afford their sunglasses (if we save like crazy). Now, when i say dolce and gabbana you may remember that they recently announced their last show (for their second line) in Milan. I remembered the same thing when I saw what brand these glasses were. Which is why i naturally chose them. Also, this is an animal print and I am a leo, could it be more perfect (insert chandler voice) ![]()
Now this is a lovely piece, large, just like i like my sunglasses to be and a strong statement unlike the previous pair so I would hardly have to do much to look good in these. All i have to do is put them on. RAWR!
These are model number Dolce&gabbana DG 4098 1 1755/2L
I’d pair these with my darling mustard pants that i love so much just so that I’d be in keeping with the brown theme of the outfit. Then I’d put on a pair of black wedges that I have from Charles and Keith. Put on a light pastel top that’s sheer with a hint of shimmer to it and top it off with an animal print clutch.
Now for the makeup and accessories. I’d put on a light pink lipgloss with this top and i won’t do my eyes except for a neutral eyeshadow. Then I’d wear a pair of hoops ala J.Lo and pull my pair up in a messy high bun to accentuate my cheekbones and the glasses better.
This is perfect for a lunch at a nice place with my man. or my best friends. something not so casual but certainly daytime enough and can be worn into the evening since the glasses are sheer enough.
